Just look at it, look at that awesome thing! I LOVE retro stuff, and when I saw these things sitting in the chip aisle the thought that I generally don’t like taco flavored things and had just come there to pick up my usual Fritos Honey BBQ Flavor Twists never even had a chance to cross my mind before the bag hit my cart. They could be Soylent Green Flavor and radioactive in a bag like that and I wouldn’t care. Apparently it’s just the bag (I.E. the best part) that’s limited edition, as an ad on the back of the bag informatively warns those who like them to keep an eye out for new packaging “coming soon”. I can heartily say that these bags are The Most Awesome Thing Ever!
Oh, and for those of you who DO care, the chips are pretty good too. They taste very similar to the classic Taco flavor (as compared to the abomination that is Tacos at Midnight). Seriously, buy these things or I don’t think we can be friends anymore.

love them!!!OMG….. i bought three bags as soon as I saw them..please join forces to keep them here…forget the limited edition we want to make them a permanent fixture on the dorito menu.
omg! I have been waiting for these for 30 years, they were like 29 cents a bag. Where oh where can I get them??? I live in Orange County California!
I got mine at a Rays in Southern Oregon.
I LOVE these and the bag!!! They do taste like the originals!! Or what I remember! I agree they should keep the retro bag and not go with the current design!!
Just saw these on the Chip aisle at CVS in New Orleans.
I bought the last two bags. I agree, I’ve been waiting so long for these flavored Doriots to come back. Would love for them to remain a permanent fixture in the flavored Doritos line.
Awesome!
My step grandfather bought a bag home for himself, I went downstairs to find somthing to snack on, I saw him eating those I asked if I could try one. So I tried one then I had another and another. MOST AWESOME THING ON EARTH!! I went to my room for a couple minutes then came back down, I looked in the snack cabnient didn’t find them, then I looked in the trash well I found em only a empty bag. = “(
I don’t know. I guess I’m alone here.
I tried them, but didn’t get the memory rush back that I thought I would. There’s cheese in the ingredients, and I remember that there was none in the 70′s/80′s (the main reason I started eating them.)
The taste isn’t anywhere near the intensity of what they used to be. Maybe there’s regulations about how much flavoring that they can legally put into their product, but I vividly remember the sting to my lips and tongue after eating about 1/3 – 1/2 bag. Today’s version, meh.
I agree with you Bart. I just bought 2 bags of these yesterday and was excited to get that great taste from the 70′s & 80′s and was a bit disappointed to find that the bag was the only thing that was original. The chips were ok but I didn’t like the sour cheesy taste. Why can’t they just make the original Taco recipe? I will wait and wait because they were soooooo good.
I agree with most on here. I also waited a long time but not as long I found some about 12 years ago in New York in some small store and bought 4 bags ate 3 of them on the drive back to Texas and they tasted just like the original ones the sting and all. Then that was the last I saw of them till about a week ago found the new bag not that good Yesterday I found the retro bag and bought 2 and they tasted better but they will never be the original I hope they stay around forever.
Happy with Doritos in San Antonio
bring back the origanal recipe!!!
